Janet Ronneberg SedgwickJanet Ronneberg Sedgwick, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on January 12, 2006, in Mukilteo, Washington.Janet was born to Trygve and Wilhelmina Ronneberg, in Berkeley, California, County of Alameda, on May 31, 1914. She grew up in Berkeley, and attended John Muir Elementary School and graduated from Anna Head High School. She attended University of California at Berkeley, where she pledged Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She married Edward V. Sedgwick, June 21, 1941, in Oakland, California. Janet and Ed lived in Los Angeles, California, for over 57 years. They then moved to Stanwood, Washington, where they lived at Merrill Gardens. The last five years were spent at Harbour Point Retirement Community in Mukilteo.Janet is survived by her daughter, Joan Sedgwick Eckstrom, and her husband, Thomas, of Everett; daughter-in-law, Margaret Ellis Sedgwick, of Pass Christian, Mississippi; grandchildren, Erik Edward Sedgwick, of Plano, Texas, Jennifer Sedgwick Fier, and her husband, Andrew, of Oceanside, California, Andrew Thomas Eckstrom, and his wife, Jennie, of Boise Idaho, and Grant Edward Eckstrom, and his wife, Tara, of Everett; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Edward V. Sedgwick; her son, Edward V. Sedgwick III; and brothers, Terres Ronneberg, and his wife, Hilda, and Warren A. Ronneberg, and his wife, Janice.Janet was an avid reader and gardener. She loved to travel. Tennis, bridge, and backgammon were her games of choice. Over the years, Janet had been affiliated with the Assistance League of Southern California, U.C.L.A Women's Faculty Club, and most recently P E O Sisterhood, Chapter Q of EverettA private family gathering will be held April 8, 2006, at the Stockton Rural Cemetery in Stockton, California.Special thanks to the Mukilteo Fire and Police Departments, and Chaplain Pat and staff at Harbour Point Retirement for the warm and caring attitude given to our family.
