Letter from Arne Rønneberg to Natal Rønneberg dated 12 Jun 1912 In Norwegian followed by a translation into English.

12 Juni 1912

Herr Nathal Rønneberg
Chicago, Ill.

Dear brother,

I hope you have received my letter, which I wrote a few days ago.
Today there is nothing new to report. The walkout continues unchanged just like the big machinist strike. Today I’ve bought a brooch for Miss St. John and sent this in the mail. I sent it to your address, so if by accident there is more obligation to pay, will you pay it, so that she will not be charged any tariff for the gift. It was one of the newest that was made here, so I think she will like it. Would you please say hello to her from me and tell her to accept it as a gift from us. And at the same time I sending happy greetings and the best thanks for the work and bother she had while I was there. I, unfortunately, have not been able to find the papers for the chair, but as soon as I can find them, I will send them to you.
I hope you've received the attachment (accrued interest I think) I sent you about the company. I hope you will soon write a letter to me tell how things are going. How do you like it in the new office building, and have you gotten a lot of new work after I left? Please say hello to Westcott and the others. How is it going with Westcott? Is he busy in the office, or is he occupied with the much talked about fast motorboats? With the friendliest regards to you and all from all of us.

Your brother Arne
